how hot is too hot?

My sennies cage at night is usually covered so i am wondering how hot is too hot for birds to handle? Usually my house is normal temperature but at night the living room gets a bit hot? probably around 75. but then with the cover on it might get hotter. also recently its been really hot in nyc like around 90 so i am wondering whats okay? he wakes up around 1pm so i bring him upstairs to my AC room but before then when he is sleeping he is downstairs. so i am wondering how much he would be able to handle without it affecting his health and well being.

I would say anything above 90 is too hot and between 70-90 as long as he has access to shade & water should be fine. If you notice panting or holding wings away from the body/drooping them, then that's when you know it's too hot!

I'm not a scientist or a professional, but that is my 2 cents.

We got temps outside of 77F or 25C atm, and the parrot room gets up to about 86 degrees during the day. This is with lightproof blinds covering the windows, so there's no direct sunlight.

Both birds seem to be doing just fine, they have access to fresh water all day since we have converted them to drinking from a bottle.

I dont think I would want it to get hotter in the parrot room though, nor in the rest of the appartment, its a bit warm for my taste atm. We have no AC though and since its a flat we cant install one either.

I have been meaning to ask the same question about water temperature. Marvin is dying to join me in the shower, but I fear the water may be too hot for him even if he stayed on a wall-mounted perch and was only exposed to steam. What is the warmest temperature that is safe for small parrots to bathe in?

Parrots should always be bathed with cold water. They actually prefer it. Steam is fine as long as it's not concentrated (my humidifier is a warm one because it's only used during the winter and it's placed smack in the middle of the birdroom where there no perches), warm water is not because it strips the natural oils from their feathers and skin which might lead to plucking -but even if it doesn't, it will make them itchy.

I use room temp water because mine just won't bath in cool or cold water... is room temperature OK. I know you shouldn't do it with warm or hot water.

Yes, room temperature is fine. Tiels are a bit different because they like to bathe 'in the rain' (which also brings them into breeding condition) and not in a bowl -well, at least, I've never had one that bathed in a bowl but they all love the spray and hang upside down like little bats with their wings open.
