hi there
my ringneck has never been clipped at any stage in her life she can fly well but enyoys to flap her wings while stationary to stregnthen her mustles webween flights across the room.
she rides around on the back of my wheelchair to be near to me. i think aggression can be conected to wing clipping because their could be more situations where a bird could not flee when started provocing an aggressive response that maybe otherwise would not be there.
she likes to test what she can get away with but was musch more prone to biting while the adult black tip of her beak was growing in, i think it was also maybe her hormones its hard to know.
she is sensitive to suger so i feed her on harrisons as a base diet she wony eat cooked carrots but will eat sweet cooked potatoes cooked and carrots raw. she likes both steamed an cooked brocoli and sprouted chick peas, mung, and azucki beens but does not like sprouted lentils which i think is a bit weird.
she can be abit pickier if foods are wet with water or cold from the frige and she is moodier with non organic food which is understandible.
i also think consisancy is important in traing with ringnecks so they become used to a routine and what his expected from them as well as what is bad behoviour i do positive reinfiorcement training which works really well with her and shes highly food motivated, loves pop corn chillis and coconut. i train her using a glove because i cannot use both my hands but used to handle her bear handed until her beak grew its black tip i still give her a head rub through the cage bars bere handed
