Looking for a yellow sided conure in Dallas

Postby Sammy01 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:02 am

I'm looking for a male yellow sided conure that is at least 7 months old. I'd prefer if he's semi tamed and someone's ex pet.

If you do have such a conure available for adoption please contact me with the following:
• pictures
• age
• how you know his sex
• re-homing fee
• anything else you'd like to add

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. :)

I can't help but may I ask why you are looking for this in a parrot just most people want babies or birds already matured enough for breeding purposes rather than semi tame ex pets.

Well I'd prefer for it to be at least semi tamed and social, I don't want to buy one from a breeder as I think that once they're weaned they typically don't spend as much time with them. Also, I'd adopt one but they don't have any available at the shelters and the people seem to be more into hoarding parrots than helping them find a home.

I already have a female green cheek conure that is pretty young. I'm looking for a friend for her and another pet. That's why I'd like him semi-young, but I don't mind if he's older (say 5 years old) as long as he hasn't mated (I don't want him bugging my baby). I want to be able to play with him and for them to play a bit too. I would be keeping them in seperate cages though.

Well keep trying the rescues any way, sometimes it takes time. I'm also pleased you have decided not to go to a breeder, the more they sell, the more they breed and the majority of those they do breed will not find themselves in good homes or end up as rehomes/rescues. I wouldn't worry too much about age though although I understand you will want the best chance of keeping them together for as long as possible. :)
