What bird do you recomend?

Postby Animals&Art » Mon Oct 07, 2013 9:28 am

Hello!
I was wanting to get a cockatiel - but them being powder birds and my brother having dust-triggered asthma, it just wouldn't work. So, I need advice on what type of bird to get. I am looking for a non-powder, cuddly, quiet, trainable, small-to-medium-sized bird. I have no problem with spending hours upon hours a day spending time with it, nor do I mind cleaning out it's cage regularly. A realitively inexpensive bird would be great. THANK YOU for your suggestions! I really appreciate it. :)

Just to let you know, there is no bird that is completely powder-dander free.
It sounds like a budgie :budgie: will fit your requirements. They are small, cute, can be tame, very quiet, small, and very inexpensive (about $100 for a handfed, tame one)

I have severe asthma caused by birds and I have had to rehome a cockatiel and brown headed parrot.

My Eclectus does not give me allergies, at least not severe ones. My dogs are my biggest problem.

It depends on the person.
