Getting onto each other's cage

Hello all,

I have a Senegal parrot, 5 yrs old and is DNA determined as a male. My father has a Grey, not yet tested for gender but is slightly over a year old.

The two parrots seems to fear each other quite a fair bit, they do not interact. But when I let them both out of their cages, they will look for opportunities to sneak up on top of each other's cage. In fact once I saw my father's Grey trying to force his way into my Senegal's cage while my Senegal is desperately trying to guard his entrance.

Also although I feed them the same food, they like to steal from each other food bowl.

Anyone knows why they behave this way?

my and both do the same thing every morning when I put they're pellets in they switch cages to eat. I don't know why but the arrangement doesn't seem to bother either bird.

Its a King of the castle thing.Each bird is suggesting its dominance on the other.You may even see them looking for your approval or not.If you show favoritism to one they win.To some degree its also the grass is always greener...perhaps his food is better than mine.I best stop here..Today I am the king of cliches.I would try to avoid having them trade cage spaces just to avoid shareing any bacteria.
