1) Good with people
2) Trick Trains easily (for a parrot)
3) Not know to be especially nippy
4) Is less prone to behavior aberrations (picking, sever hormonal issues as an adult) if kept in a knowledgable home and is well provided.
5) Can talk well.
6) Low dander
7) Flashy colors.
Yes, I realize every bird is a gamble, I just want to make as knowledgable gamble as possible. Yes, I will consider adopting IF it seems like the parrot is a good fit (see above).
At this time the strongest contender is a male Eckie. Runners up are a Meyers, a Brown Head, and a Bare Eyed 2. Greys and Amazons and most macaws and most 2s are out of the running for a variety of reasons, as well as small parrots.
I am not interested in another large bird for space reasons. Not only do their cages take up a lot of space, they need a lot of space for many of their tricks. It is also easier to fly a mid-size parrot in a home than my Greenwing (my home anyway).
I do a comedy magic and comedy bird show. Many of the bird tricks are "enhanced" with magic . . .
I am open to suggestions and first hand experience with ADULTS of these species.
