No, there isn't a big difference and, as a matter of fact, there are people who believe they are just subspecies of just one species but, basically, the yellow crown tends to be a bit smaller, has a sweeter temperament and the beak is either all horn colored or half horn, half black while the yellow nape has an all black beak. The yellow crown only has yellow on the front of its head while the yellow nape could have yellow both on the front and the back. Sometimes people think that a young yellow nape is a yellow crown because they only see yellow in the front not realizing that the yellow spot on the nape grows as they get older and that there are yellow napes that don't even show any yellow there when they are babies .
Also, some people say the yellow naped talks better but I have both and, although Precie (yellow nape female) speaks better than Mami (yellow crown female), Precie lived with two ladies who talked to her all the time while poor Mami lived her entire life in a basement (Mami talks also and is a great singer). I also have two Yellow Nape males and all they say is Hello and Come on so, it all depends on how you raise them.
