Introducing SI eclectus and GC conure

Postby B3A13 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 7:06 pm

Hi guys,
I have an eclectus male who lives in a cage near my GC conure,
they talk to each other all day and love to prune each other through the bars.

I am wondering if I can introduce these two outside the cage,
as my GCC just lost his mate a few weeks ago and is really lonely. I also think my ekkie should learn some bird manners in case I ever want him to breed in the future.

I don't want to house them together but if they could both interact I think it would be nice.
I am a little worried about my ekkie as I think he may be a little jealous of the other bird, and he
is much larger than my GCC. I would watch all the time, I was wondering if anyone has done this, and whether it is successful?

I don't know if anybody has tried this specific introduction, but a guide could be the Parrot Wizard's blog entry on introducing his cape parrot to his senegal, located here: http://trainedparrot.com/Target/

Good luck!
