You really need to do something about the electric cords, as Zeus may decide to chew on them and it only takes a few seconds for him to bite through enough to be electrocuted or to cause a fire. You must do something as well about his cage, Kiki's cage is 21 inches deep, 24 inches wide and32 inches high and has a play area on top of it and I would not consider a smaller cage for her and I feel bad that she doesn't have a larger one than this. An outside aviary for my birds is my next major project.

Now for a couple of shots of Kiki

I hope the picture of Kiki's cage will help you to find one for Zeus that will be closer to the right size for him.

Please see this link for some ideas to dealing with your electrical cords.

The info from Wolf is good and I would listen :). Zeus needs a bigger cage and toys, but most of all he needs you to love him. He deserves that, no matter if he is 7-8 years old or if he would have been 7-8months.

I would say Zeus is still too wild AT THE MOMENT. Keep trying and he will get tame eventually.

I'm glad to see you managed to get him out of his cage. That could be a good sign, because some birds are too frightened of people to come out. I hope he went back in without too much trouble. It is best to show him the food going into the cage and wait, rather than trying to chase him back in.

Seeing him use the skateboard for a perch is interesting. Eventually you might want something like the Parrot Wizard training stands, maybe a playtree, or other perches he can get his feet around, but he clearly found something to stand on for now.

Keep progressing. It seems hard now, but stick with it, and when you look back it will seem to have happened very quickly. Parrots are smart birds.

Very good, but I hope that he doesn't decide to eat your computer keys. Kiki has tried on several occasions to eat mine.

And I am on my third keyboard and is already missing 9 keys, courtesy of my Senegal, Zoey. LOL

Yes, you definitely need a MUCH larger cage with better perches and toys as well as bird-proofing the room were he/she is kept (can't see the front well enough to tell the gender). There is something wrong with the plumage, too. It looks very uneven and raggedy with plucked legs and he/she has stress bars all over the back and top of wings which means acute emotional stress and a terrible diet - it also means that the bird is, most likely, older than you were told. But I don't think he/she was trapped as an adult because, if that was the case, the bird would never be perching on the computer. Please make sure you are not feeding him/her seeds all the time and little else. Senegals are quite good eaters and enjoy their fruits and veggies although it takes a while to get them to eat leafy greens on a regular basis.
