Rose Crowned Conure?

Postby jparrothead » Mon Aug 11, 2014 10:41 am

Hello,

Anyone have or know anything about the Rose Crowned Conure? (Pyrrhura rhodocephala).

They are a fairly rare pyrrhura, but from the little I have seen and read, they seem to be an exceptional species for a companion parrot, as they are quieter, very friendly, and supposedly huge cuddlebugs--even more so than Green Cheeks, and somewhat calmer, too. The few (and it seems VERY few) people who have them rave about them.

Here's a basic fact sheet: http://beautyofbirds.com/rosecrownedconures.html

If anyone has any information, please comment!

Thanks!

Never had any so no personal experience but, going by what I've read, they seem to be more aviary birds than companions.
