LOL - I don't know about Myrtle, but I have two BFAs, a male and a female, and they don't have long tails. Well, I guess that length is a matter of perception and what's short to me could seem long to you but the shorter, blunt-ended tail is one of the physical characteristics of Amazon parrots - versus the conures that have a long -almost or same length as their body, tapered one). As to a poached bird's fate, best thing is to take it to a rehabilitation center where he will be released into the wild when fully grown.
