There are no street lamps and hardly any cars come down my road after 6pm, I do close the blinds for her and open them back up around 6am. She's in a room by herself, and no one goes past her area at night (unless using the restroom). I also cover her at 9pm and she's usually at the bottom of her cage sleeping.

I don't understand why your bird is sleeping in the bottom of her cage as they would normally sleep up on the highest available perch. I don't have any Quakers, so maybe it is a Quaker thing although it still sounds strange to me.

No, it's not a quaker thing and it's not normal, either. Has she had a complete physical in the last six months? Also, when you say she is in a room by herself, is this all day long or is this just where her night cage is and she has another one for the day somewhere else?

You may have the right idea. If she is already asleep when you cover her she may be getting startled. Try talking softly when you enter the room so she knows your there even if she is asleep.

My cockatiels do a lot of flapping when they are startled. Startle Rambo and he will yell: "Don't you ever ever ever".

"Don't you ever ever ever..."?! Precie says: "Would you EVER?...... AAAAAHHHH!" The "ah' in EXACTLY the tone of voice a person would use when they finally figured something out that was puzzling them. I love zons!

That is so funny.
When Myrtle gets angry at being told no she throws a tantrum and says "no No no NO and again any other way she can until she gets it out of her system.
