This is not one of my favorites because she writes about captive birds and what I really enjoy is reading the experiences of the field biologists... I think they and not any of these so-called avian behaviorists we seem to have such an abundance of nowadays are the ones to go to when it comes to understanding their behaviors. But she obviously loves parrots and tries hard to make their lives better so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Oh wow, that is a lovely piece. It really does go to show that a species should never be housed alone if it can be helped- imagine her mental state if she had been housed just by herself .

We're still settling down here with our latest additions and Fajr is going through a patch of hatred for the twins, but once things settle down and I can afford it out of my own pocket instead of my parents', I definitely intend to bring home another conure friend.

It also makes my heart hurt thinking back on past birds I've owned which were by themselves. These animals truly are something else.
