My sister just adopted a pair of 3 month old budgies (Blue). I will make a new topic about them soon :)
Labels on the previous diagram also apply to this diagram (i.e walls, raised surfaces).

Each one of these diagrams are so different as to be a totally different structure. I definitely would not put any cage right next to an outside door, that is just asking for an escape and loss of a bird. I see no valid reason that the two cages could not be placed near each other and let the birds enjoy each others company. It will always be helpful for the times that you are not available for your birds. This is true even when the birds don't get along with each other.

What you say is definitely true, however, the budgies cage is right across the kitchen, so I am quite concerned if it safe to place the cage there.

This last diagram is pretty good, but it would help to label the rooms.

I have one question - if I placed my lorikeet beside the budgies' cage, will that make the birds bond to each-other, not me?

Sometimes birds of different species do bond with each other, I really don't think that you will have any problems in this area. I have four species of parrots in the same room next to each other, 3 of them bonded to me and 1 bonded with my Lady.

No, no, not in the same cage. Budgies that have other budgies to bond to can be real bad bullies to other birds and, besides, budgies are lories have completely different diets so you can never house them together.

Oh, yes, you are right, I misread the question. But, in any case, they need to be quarantined first.
