Yes Wolf, I was planning to try to scrap any glue of the honey dipper tomorrow. Thanks for the info Liz, I soaked them in hot water today, the lemon-water thing sounds good... I'm in no rush to wash them though..

If anyone could post some pictures of the toys you have in your bird's cage or maybe toy ideas
( popsicle stick toys e.t.c ) that would be great! Thanks :)

I don't like to give them plastic toys. Parrots chew and I would not want to swallow any plastic (crop impaction, digestive tract occlusion) plus we are finding out more and more how bad exposure to plastic is (baby's sexual organs are deformed, lower IQ, etc). I give them natural things to chew like paper, cardboard, branches, dry yucca medallions, balsa wood, cork, rope, dry corn husks, pine cones, etc.

I might make a trip to the dollar store for some raffia, cork, sisal, wooden beads ( are they safe? ) and cork. Are things like toilet roles safe? There's glue on the edges and I'm afraid these would be toxic to the bird.

I give my birds the used toilet paper rolls to play with all of the time, also the empty paper towel rolls. I have never heard of them being toxic.

I'm thinking to cut off the parts with glue and use the rest of the surface.

Is there any need to clean the roll before giving it to your parrot?

I don't but if it looks dirty, I don't give it to them.
