And killing it is just one thing they can do, they can also severely hurt and permanently handicap smaller birds. GCCs have actually beaks that are softer than other species because they are mainly fruit eaters and I have seen several of them that have lost half their upper beak to a bad bite from a bigger bird (and it never grows back - one of the GCCs I rehomed, Leo, has this problem) - then there are chewed off feet or toes, biting the bend of the wing which, even if it's not really broken, suffers devastating soft tissue damage that prevents the bird from using it again, etc. etc.
My Zoey would attack any other bird that she perceives as competition for my love and she doesn't care if they are much bigger than her. My redbelly Isis is not that much bigger than her but it still took me months and months to get her used to her so they can be, under SUPER close supervision, out together -and Isis doesn't even ride my shoulder but Zoey has seen me scratching her head, talking and kissing her and that's all she needed to hate her.
