Today, I did things a bit differently than yesterday. I placed Keeta in Rajah's cage as It is much easier to open any door on the cage and Keeta will come to me. I waited and let them talk to each other all day until about three hours before dinnertime and them put Keeta in with Rajah. He promptly proceeded to feed her and then they hung out for a while and then he fed her again. The boy is trying to make her fat. They stayed together until just before feeding time when I called Keeta and put her back in her own cage. So they spent almost three hours together without a single fight. They did very well today and I am pleased with their progress.
Pajarita,I don't know if you are still in touch with Elena and Kelvin, but I would bet that they would love to know how things are progressing with Paquita and her new beau, Rajah, So if you are in touch would you please let them know for me?

WOW!!! The boy is IN LOVE big time and it sounds as if she is in seventh heaven! I tell you, nothing like a ex-breeder bird when you want a little one to have the right kind of company. And, yes, I was planning on letting them know but was waiting for a picture from you so I can show them how very handsome Paquita's boyfriend is.

I am trying to get him to find his way into her cage this morning as when I put her in with him, in less than 30 minutes he had her preening his head. So I decided that it was time to move them on in together as long as they don't start fighting and leave them together. I will try to get some pictures today to post.

Well Keeta and Rajah did very well for close to four hours, but then I had to put him back in his own cage as he was too pushy and starting to intimidate Keeta to the point that she was in a fight mode and very defensive. Oh well, it will just take a little longer which is not a problem.

I think that this will be my last post in this thread. I plan on continuing with updates on Keeta and Rajah, but I think that it is time to move it and start a new thread elsewhere.

I will be sending Elena and Kelvin an email as soon as I am done with the forum. He looks real good on the picture but, of course, his wonderful colors and the silky sheen and iridescence of his indigo feathers cannot be captured so easily.

Good that you are not rushing things. She might be willing but she has lived on her own for so long that she will need a bit of time to get used to the constant attention.
