our neighbor has a pigeon and its white with brown spots and it has a pink beak.it is very tame. he says it flew to his house so he though it was ours so i was wondering is it possible for a pigeon to get lost?

Yes it is possible. They must usually be trained to return to their home, although I don't really know what the process is.

Of course! Not all pigeons belong to the 'homing' breed, there are many different kinds.
