Plet breeding

Postby Pajarita » Sat Jun 20, 2015 4:23 pm

While at ABBA (manufacturer of seed mixes and other bird food as well as distributor of all things bird-related), I overhead two breeders talking and they were both 'quitting' breeding plets. Apparently, they are losing popularity fast as everybody complains about them not making good pets at all after a while (hens too aggressive and both male and female pluck). This is another example of birds that should be kept as aviary trying to 'make it' as companion. They simply need too much and people cannot satisfy them no matter how hard they try... So be prepared for finding A LOT of them been rehomed.
