I think that this would imply that not all of the flock would be free at the same time so as to have some left in the aviary to draw the others back, but I am not certain that this would work or not. Monks build large communal nests that they never wander far from These communal nests can grow to the size of an automobile. This is clearly a totally different set of breeding habits than those of the love birds.
I am not saying that it would not work, but I don't know. But then I also don't know if it is worth the risk to you or not, It would not be worth it to me.

Actually, lovebirds are more pair-oriented than flock-oriented and always nest on their own (meaning no communal nest or area) so no, they don't necessarily would follow the flock back home.

By watching my parrotlet, I was suspecting that this might be the case with lovebirds but wasn't sure as I really don't know that much about them.

Well I just learned that there are a few feral populations of Peach faced Lovebirds around Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona which is pretty warm most of the year. Thailand is also a tropical area of the world. I did see that at one end of this aviary that there was a small area that they were able to come and go outside of the aviary. I also saw that these birds had their nests inside of the aviary and that is also where most of the flock was. I am sure that the adults returned because that is where their nest and therefore their young were at. Of course this is just my opinion and I am a far cry from being an expert.
I might add that this video was filmed in Thailand and it is likely that these lovebirds were wild caught and therefore know how to find food and water on their own.
Personally, you asked for our opinion, which we freely gave as requested. now you act as if there is some need to prove us wrong, because our opinions differ than what you wanted to hear. I think that trying this in Denmark with captive bred and raised birds would prove to be a big mistake and that is just in the cost of the birds lives, but I have nothing to prove, I am just here trying to improve the lives of captive parrots and their humans. I think that if this is something that you really thing would be of benefit to the birds, although I don't see how, then I really think that you should take your time and continue to research it, but I don't think that it is something to rush into.

I do appreciate the amount of replies this has gotten, and I must admit that I was pretty disappointed about the immediate rejection of the idea, but I've been doing a lot of researching and I just feel the need to discuss this and maybe arrive at new conclusions. Among other things, I've learned that the rosy-faced lovebird (which is the one I have) roosts (sleeps and rests) communally, and as you can see in the video, they can also learn to nest communally, and that they tend to stay put around reliable food sources, my house being the only one of those in a radius of several kilometers.

Go to about 4 minutes in and you'll see that they are completely free.
