Well, apparently, although Mikey can no longer walk, the fact doesn't seem to bother him much. He wags his tail, sits up for a little while every now and then, turns himself over and even barks when he pees or poops on himself so somebody comes to clean him up (and, sometimes, this happens in the middle of the night so we get up and clean him because he doesn't like to be dirty) so, as long as he is in no pain and is still eating and drinking and content with his life, I won't put him down. He'll let me know when he is ready. They always do.

Pajarita wrote:Well, he is still alive and getting better. I think he must have had a mild cardiovascular episode because I've been giving him a restorative tea and he has been doing better. Very slowly and, of course, he will never be really normal but he is now loose again and back to his normal life with his beloved Codee... so well, in fact, that, this morning, he bluffed about biting me

When my male sennie got ill and I couldn't get him to a vet I gave him squuezed orange juice to ke=ep him going, it worked but what is restorative tea? I thought tea was dangerous for parrots. I like the idea of this tea, how is it administered when birds aren't very keen drinkers?

Thanks.

Some herbal teas can be good for your bird, but you really want to avoid the black teas like humans normally drink for your birds due to the caffeine content of them.
