Welcome to the forum.

Each individual bid no matter what species has it's own personality. Some of it is in their genes and some is what is learned. Their real personality does not really show through until they pass their first hormonal season. The best way to find the personality that you want would be to volunteer at an avian shelter.

Havrehas been doing just that and keeping us posted on the personalities of individuals of different species. I am too old to remember the title of the thread but the next person to respond will know. He recently adopted a handicapped bird by personality and not species.
All of mine are rescues except for 3 that were rehomed to me before they needed a rescue.

Myrtle is my BF who desperately needed rescued at a year old. At first the only thing I could pick up from her was here fear from abuse and neglect. I have posted most of her progress in "Rambo & Myrtle". I treat my birdies like kids using the Momma technique and talked around her to the others instead of imposing myself on her. She learned to depend on me long before she really trusted me. She is supper intelligent. Really more intelligent than me since she can push my buttons. She is 5 now and had her first hormonal season this spring 2015.

Sorry for the double posting but I have a tendancy to loose my posts.

Myrtle loves me like a "Ma" as she calls me. She is loving, funny, social with everyone. Even though she would let me do anything with her she did not let me touch the top of her head until her first season. My babies especially with Myrtle are backwards from others. They get supper loving during their season. During her first season she was the perfect bird. It was her step into maturity. Then her true personality came through after her season. You can read most of it in Rambo & Myrtle but to shorten the story, she is like a smart 2 year old human child who really keeps me on my toes. She even premeditates on what she is going to put me through next.

Myrtle and a couple Cockatiels are the only ones I got pre hormonal and they have been really educational. This is why I suggest you visit shelter and learn about personalities as well as species. Both my Amazons are on the "hot" list but have no aggression to humans so they are not good examples of their species.

Take your time and read about the other members kids before you choose a species. Mine are the best and that is what all "Mommas" say about their babies.

To me this forum is like a neighborhood. Read and learn about your neighbors kids before you have your own.

No parrot is really 100% trustworthy with children... I have the sweetest, sweetest female bluefront amazon. Her name is Naida, she is 31 or 32 years old and the gentlest thing ever! She grabs your finger with the outmost delicacy and climbing to your shoulder spends hours just very gently kissing your cheek, preening your hair and softly cooing to you. But yesterday, she bit my grandson's finger drawing blood. I am sure it was his fault for trying to interact with her (he says he wanted her to step up to the stick -I was in the kitchen so I did not see what really happened)but I would have sworn on a stack of bibles that she would never bite anybody - and she did! Hard!

Now, as to the species you mention:
Grays tend to be calm and can learn to talk, although not all do, but they are also very difficult to keep happy because they need a lot of attention and, been naturally high-strung, they dislike busy households and are prone to feather destruction behavior.
I don't know of any amazon species that is called Orange Fronted, there is an Orange Winged and a Blue fronted and both are naturally aggressive species and, although they can learn to talk, they are not the species that talk the best. Indian ringnecks required expert and frequent handling are not cuddly birds, at all. They can learn to talk but they are not really good with children or even people, in general, as they are considered more an aviary species than a companion one.
