maroon belly

How similar or different are these conures to a green cheek? I know about the physical differences but are they similar in personality? I Found a year old female and wondered if she may make a suitable "mate" for Ollie given how much I am struggling to find a female GCC

I really don't have any conure but based on what I have read concerning these two species of conures, I think that they would be compatible with each other as companions and due to their many similarities may even accept each other as a suitable mate especially if there are no other similar species available for them.
Of course. I would not encourage breeding them together, but I don't think that this is what you would be considering, and it would be better if another GCC could be located.

No definitely not ever going to breed. Any eggs would be switched for dummies.

Just getting frustrated for ollies sake. Very very few females coming up for rehoming & I've put loads of wanted adverts out there.

They are almost identical physically and in personality - this bird would be a great companion for Ollie and, if I were you, I would jump on the opportunity!

Fab fab. What about vocalisation? Similar type of noose? I know there are fairly quiet as parrots go.

Well this one is 12 yo, full background is unknown. I'm not 100% sure she is definitely female atm though. Someone had her as an adult bird but couldn't cope with the biting, she's now stuck in a cage with someone he passed her on to because she's not friendly towards him either. ....

As per my reading, the Maroon bellied conure is considered to be the quietest of the conures, but it is noted that they have a very shrill scream that could be very irritating to people. That is all I could find in relation to noise. They are apparently monomorphic (? ) that is to say that you will need to do a DNA test to be certain of its sex.

If it sounds like a GCC I can live with that. I've tried youtube for vids but no joy.....

I have found that, when it comes to parrots vocalizations, it's more a matter of husbandry than anything else. Now, having said that, I will not deny that when Freddie (LSC2) calls, if he is on your shoulder, you feel as if your eardrum is going to split and your brain is rattling around in your skull  But he used to scream constantly (and I do mean CONSTANTLY! - I minded, of course I did!, but the worst was my husband's complaining about it) but now, he only does it maybe two or three times a day and for a few seconds only. Senegals are supposed to be one of the 'quiet' parrots and I had one that was given up because of her screams but she did not scream here...

I don't mind a lot of vocalising but there are certain pitches I can't stand- sun conures for example.
