MEOW!!!

Postby Pajarita » Thu Aug 11, 2016 11:57 am

Video of a cockatoo meowing to three cats with the cats just sitting there looking at him  . I have two birds that will not only meow just like a cat but also call "Here, kitty kitty kitty!" and this is something they learn in their previous homes because I don't call my cats that way :D

Kookooloo meows like the cats, but does not call them. Our cats all have names and they all come and respond to their names. She does say Pepper, which is my Boxer's name, and that is how I call her to me.

Rambo is so good at meow that he can still fool me. He then laughs when I can't find the cat that called. Both Rambo and Myrtle know the names of all the other critters but do not call them. Rambo has a favorite dog and will call him by name to "cmere". Myrtle has picked that up too.

Yes, my cats know their names, too. Sweetpea would say: "Come on" in exactly the same tone of voice I use to call my dogs back in when they are in the backyard - and he will say: "Here, Chicho - here!" which is what I used to say to Chicho (rescued shihpoo) to get him to come and take food from my hand (he would not approach people on his own, he distrusted them) every single morning when I feed the dogs their breakfast (it's given out of a spoon following a pre-determined order among the dogs -I do this to get them used to taking food from a spoon for when I need to medicate them and to learn to wait for their turn and not mob each other trying to steal food). Sweetpea watches the whole thing very carefully from the island because he is a very curious bird that needs to be in everything, but also because he hopes I get distracted enough to give him the opportunity to steal a beakfull of dog food  from the three cans on the island (senior and low fat food for Rocky, regular adult dog food for Pinky and allergy food for Max and Chicho - Baby eats from a bowl on her own).
