Conure ID?

Postby Navre » Thu Sep 15, 2016 9:38 am

The bare breast makes it a little tougher. This guy is about the size of a White Eyed. He looks like a blue Crown, but the crown is brown, and the beak color isn't right for a BCC

It's a dusky (Dusky Headed Conure), I think.

That was my thought, but the beak is wrong. All the dusky I see have all black beaks.

Our bird sitting service had just had a dusky in, and she didn't think it was the same species. I'll try to get better pictures of him.

Nandays have black beaks, too. Does it have any feathers on the legs? Because Nandays have red 'stockings' on them...

I'll have to check him tomorrow. I have already left today. Long days down there right now. Traffic means it takes me three hours to get there in the morning.

With that naked chest and belly, I assume his legs are all plucked, too...

Yes, legs and chest are the 'bad' spots for pluckers...
