Still trying VERY hard to save the orange-bellies. As they found that only 10 males and no females had migrated back, they released females that had been captive-bred and they report that the wild males had reacted positively - YAAAAYYYY! Cutest picture of two babies in the piece!

And the fight to save the species intensifies... They are pairing a wild caught birds with 15 of the ones they bred and releasing them together in an effort to help the captive-bred learn from the wild caught.

It would be wonderful to foster a pair. I would give them their own room for free flight and let them raise their babies. I would feed what they would find in the wild so they could be released. The babies could be released together with a feeding station until they separated and went their own way.

Well, they are breeding them in captivity and releasing them but these are one of the two species of parrots that migrate and that's where they lose them: during the migration!
