They have developed a vaccine for PBFD (now called PCD for Psittacine Circoviral Disease) and are trying to use it on the orange bellies in an effort to save the species from extinction.

Unbelievably, the greatest majority of Kiwis do not know there are bird species in danger in their country... not even the orange-fronted keets!
