I'm Looking For a Meyer's Parrot

Postby darksky » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:27 pm

Hi,

We're looking for a baby Meyer's Parrot... can anyone point me to a GOOD breeder who might have one available?

Thank You, :-)

Can you be any more specific about where you are from?

It's really rather hard to recommend anyone if we don't know where you are from since some breeders will not ship their babies withing a country, let alone export them out of it.

You bet. We're located in North Carolina and willing to drive for pick-up even to neighboring states like Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, etc.. For breeders further away we'd probably want to have our bird shipped.

Thanks :-)

Jean Pattison has an excellent reputation and breeds African parrots exclusively. Here is her website. http://www.africanqueenaviaries.com/babies.htm I believe she is in Florida. I would recommend my breeder but I happen to know that his Meyers pairs are not producing right now.

Hmmm... no luck, Jean's but she's not expecting any this season. So... I'm still looking.

Anyone?

are you all set up? if she is not expecting it could work to your advantage and not be rushed if she had chicks right now i would be stressed trying to get everything together in time!

All set, Jesse! Tnx for asking. We went with a Caique... instead.

An adorable caique by the looks of it.

What made you go for a Caique over a Meyer's? I wouldn't exactly call them similar birds ;)
