Cockatoo's quirk!

Postby Pajarita » Sat Jan 26, 2019 11:02 am

No other toy will do so he had to keep on looking for the right one  As you can see, he has lots and lots of pretty toys hanging in, from and near his cage but he did not even look at them!

Mind you, the idea of a huge bucket of loose things works great for cockatoos! I had a friend who ran a rescue with quite a number of toos in there and she had large metal trash bins smack in the middle of the rooms, all filled up with pieces of wood, broken toys, plastic cups, baby toys and even crumpled up colorful papers and the birds will spend hours pulling stuff out of them. I do the same thing for Linus too but in a smaller scale and the 'bin' is just another cardboard box he can also chew (and often does even before he starts taking stuff out of it :D )
