You know, guys. If you hadn't sharpened your nails on this girl, she might still be around the forum and actually learn something about both species. She could have made a better educated choice.
Instead you just scared her away.

Well if I saved a precious Hyacinth the lifelong misery of living with someone that takes parrot ownership so frivolously, then I'm glad I did my part. Someone without parrot experience that thinks they can just get a Hyacinth just because they can afford it (or is so insanely out of touch that they don't realize it costs a fortune) shouldn't subject such a wonderful parrot to a mediocre life.

When you exhaust your cleverness, only then will you learn.

I have a strong feeling you're too young to understand the above! and I hope you treat your parrots with more respect than what I've seen you show some people on this forum.

Cheers
Paul ;)

On this forum, I only treat people with respect that treat their birds with respect (or the concept of getting one if they are not yet an owner).

I understand where you're coming from. But I think she just had no clue. What will probably happen now is that she will buy a parrot 'just to show those people I can'. Ive seen it happen before on other forums. People asking 'dumb' questions like this and getting scared away by an exasperated crowd. They show up a couple of weeks later on another forum with, in this case, a parrot.

she had a cockatiel and it flew away my best bet would she would clip her new parrot because her previous one flew away. only a guess but hey....if your parrot was able to fly away the first time what was she doing with the bird? not knowledgeable enough about a flighted bird?

I think that is nonsence. It happens to responsible pet-owners as well. Look at Marnie!
And saying that people who clip their parrots wings are irresponsible is a bit too black and white for me, sorry. If you had to take away every bird that is clipped I'm sure a lot of people on this forum will lose their birds as well.

Dont patronise, educate.
