Unfortunately I don't have a lot of experience with conures. I do know that conures have a reputation for being loud. The baby ones that I have tried to handle in a store were a little bitey but this could be a bias. This might not be the case with a tamed one. Maybe they are good with their owners and the ones at the store were not properly socialized. Again, I would try to find a store or breeder who has some and interact with it.

My friend has a half-moon or peach fronted conure and he's very sweet and not very loud. The loudest conures the Nanday, Jenday and Sun Conures.
Green Cheeks are not very loud. As far as them being bitey I think it depends on each individual bird.

What do you guys think about a hawkheaded parrot? Does anybody know anything about them? I heard that they are quite uncommon and aren't found easily.

I'm gonna say it many times: Do NOT get an Eclectus! They are lovely and beautiful birds...for experienced owners. They are large, loud, demanding, and can be very aggressive. Not good for a first time owner.
For me, cockatiels fit the bill perfectly. They're small, cute, intelligent, and aren't as demanding. Once you've spent two or three years happily with your tiel, I think a Meyers would be good for you. But once again...No Eclectus! Don't get one! You'll end up with scars on your hands and $3,000+ in the hole.

Rebellious - I think it would be very helpful if you checked out the date of a thread before you bring it back to life. This one, for example, is four years old, and anyone you might be replying to is long gone from this forum. Quite a few of the other threads you've resurrected have been varying degrees of out of date too. It can rather detract from 'live' threads that would benefit from attention plus saves confusion. Just a thought
