No, I am really blessed to have the bird I bought it out of sadness and depression, my girlfriend left so I bought a bird. A love bird..... My favorite animal for what they represent,I just wanted something that would show me a little affection back and I named her fate because the day I went in is the day they got her.

She is more than a bird to me and I hope that I will have her for a good amount of time, as of now she is a little bit of everything taken from me given back.

:swaying:

Though she hung on my nose earlier and it hurteded :(

How old is it? It has so much black still left on it's beak

My Piper on the left, used to call him "dirty face" ;)

He was maybe three months old on that I think? Not sure...

Piper now. Everything about him got lighter in colour, body included (which kinda saddened me because I did like the darker body colour)

It took a few months, if not a year, for colours to start changing and I think he had all his definitive adult plumage by the time he was two.

It's entirely possible. I guess each bird changes at their own pace.
I've just rarely seen many babies with that much black on their beaks when they being sold.

Yeah I agree, we had a peach faced lovebird, her beak was black at the base when we first got her and she was 8 weeks. She became very vibrant in colour after about 6 months (I think, it was 15 years ago) She was awesome. She used to fly into my hand to bathe while I was in the kitchen. She would play tag with the kids.....great little bird. Very tame, my youngest son was only 2 1/2 and he could grab her and kiss her and put her in the cage....so sweet.
Enjoy your bird and check out you tube there is a video of a lovebird doing amazing tricks!! :swaying:
