I looked at my response from April.

I still absolutely love African Grey's and Amazon's, but with all the research and experience I've had now, I at the very least know that an Amazon is not for me.

With Kylie, the Meyer's coming home in October, I'm content with the 3 birds I'll have. They are great little birds so full of personality that I don't feel like I need to bring a bigger bird into the house. Maybe I'm like Natacha ... I've a Poicephalus girl :D

right now my dream birds are a cherry headed conure, a bird I could realistically see myself getting in the future, and mealy amazons (or any amazon for that matter) which I love but will probably not get. Actually the only birds that I would not want are the large macaws and large cockatoos. As of yet I have not met a friendly macaw (all of them were in birdstores, I'm sure they're lovely birds once socialized and in the right homes) and as much as I consistantly fall in love with the baby cockatoos I meet, I don't think they'd be the right bird for me.

I used to really want a TAG but....then we got Scarlet. Now I absolutely love ekkies and would like to get a male someday. I also want a gold-capped conure, but unless I go to a breeder they are harder to find (I am determined to never buy a bird again, I'd rather adopt one)

My dream bird will always be a hyacinth macaw. I have wanted one since I was little. They are absolutely beautiful birds. I have priced them and I know I will never be able to afford one of these. My second was a greenwing macaw and I was fortunate to aquire one last September. He is just amazing! Yes he bites, and screams and makes a mess but I love it all! I am so thankful to the man who sold him to me at such an affordable price and thankful to my husband who surprised me and bought him and allowed me to even get another bird lol. :macaw:

My dream bird would be one of the bigger macaws... But until I win the lottery to be able to give the space and time they need then I doubt I will get one!... Maybe settle for a hahn's in a couple of years....

I have lots of dream birds that I don't look into to decide on one because it's waay too tempting for me to do that kind of research!

1. I LOVE Sun Conures. If noise wasn't a factor, they'd be perfect. They always seem to have such bold personalities & are just too dang cute.

2. Also very appealing to me is African Greys of course, for reasons already stated by others.

3. I met a Red Tailed Black Cockatoo (not sure what the official name is) at Busch Gardens and they're absolutely stunning in real life.

4. Budgies are on my list too. I actually had intentions of getting a budgie, so I was really psyched up about them, but when I walked into the bird shop my Sadie stole my heart. Wasn't an overnight decision by any means to get her just in case it comes off that way.

5. Last but not least, I think if I had the chance, time, space, money, and all that, I'd get a Red Belly. I have yet to have the pleasure of seeing one in real life though. :(

I'm sure my list will grow even more before it shrinks at all! But it'll be a long, long time before I get another bird so no worries...

I have my dream bird in my Cape parrot, Capri.

If I was to add another bird to the bunch, it'd be an Illigers macaw or a Rose Breasted Cockatoo.

Onnnnne day!!

I don't know if I have a 'dream bird' per say... I'm dearly loving my little tiel and right now can't really imagine getting another parrot. If I did, definitely not a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. Bad experiences

Looking back to October I'd still say my dream bird is a macaw. I'm not sure what kind of macaw I'd like, but I always seem to go back to the Green Wing. If time, space, money, and fear of the size wasn't an issue I'd get a Hyacinth. They're just so beautiful.

And of course I already own one of my dream birds, I absolutely love Amazons.
