Me too! Archimedes is a special case though, he was a pet store bird but had been there for over a year and was in a small cage all by himself and very sad... I consider him a rescue.

absolutely, Rosie was rescued from a petstore and a horrible endless cycle of being returned to it. Her original owner died and she bounced in and out of homes and petstores for almost 2 years(I know of 4 confirmed homes she went to, and 2 stores, but there were probably more!). She was near impossible to handle and miserably unhappy. She picked me up while I was there getting birdseed for my parakeet. The store owner ended up making me an awesome deal because she realized that this bird was better off with someone she actually liked than to make money off her. I've never had an issue with her, not a one.
