My dream bird will always be a hyacinth macaw. I have wanted one since I was little. They are absolutely beautiful birds. I have priced them and I know I will never be able to afford one of these.

Though I prefer rescue/rehomes only, if I ever am lucky enough to run across a hyacinth in need of a home, I will be ecstatic!

Me too! Archimedes is a special case though, he was a pet store bird but had been there for over a year and was in a small cage all by himself and very sad... I consider him a rescue.

I don't know if I have a 'dream bird' per say... I'm dearly loving my little tiel and right now can't really imagine getting another parrot. If I did, definitely not a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. Bad experiences

absolutely, Rosie was rescued from a petstore and a horrible endless cycle of being returned to it. Her original owner died and she bounced in and out of homes and petstores for almost 2 years(I know of 4 confirmed homes she went to, and 2 stores, but there were probably more!). She was near impossible to handle and miserably unhappy. She picked me up while I was there getting birdseed for my parakeet. The store owner ended up making me an awesome deal because she realized that this bird was better off with someone she actually liked than to make money off her. I've never had an issue with her, not a one.

My dream bird would be an Hahn's Mini Macaw, I'm crazy for those green fellas but it'll be a hassle to get them now. Maybe one in the future. I've always wanted a Macaw, but they're so big when I found about the Mini Macaw I almost yelped out of excitement. They're gorgeous!

I think first off when I get my own space I want a Sun Conure or almost any type of Conure I could get my hands on.Just cool birds. I've never been enticed by anything larger than that.. Macaws just seem too much and scary to me. Those and Sulfur Crested Cockatoos. I'm just not into them.. I went into a pet store which had a couple of them and it was unpleasant. Like I literally almost fainted from the screeching/screaming.

i guess my dream bird would be a sun conure but i really dont know enough about birds (yet) to really have a dream bird. but i like the parakeet size

I concur! My baby is coming soon........a few more weeks. I have been waiting since hatch day June 14, 2010 so I am getting super anxious....
