My dream bird has always been the CAG. I remember when I was little and I'd watch the videos of Alex the parrot over and over again. :gray: I always used to tell myself I was going to own one when I'm older. CAGs may not have the bright colors like the macaws, but theres just something about them that has me mesmerized. I am not in the right place in my life right now to own one, but I know in the future I will.

Hahn's Macaws are just absolutely lovely! My mother and I ran a pet store for about two years, which is how I got my Hahn's. She had been absued and neglected, so we rehabilitated her. Now me and her are very much bonded, and she is so incredibly smart!! And their voices are just darling! I can not imagine what I would do with myself if I did not have my darling Jade, :)

I have a lot of species I'd consider 'dream birds' (I'm hopeless!) My list of current obsessions:

Quaker parrots, sun conures, cockatiels, alexandrine parakeets, eclectus parrots (probably my ultimate), African Greys (my ultimate ultimate if they weren't 6k plus in australia), neophemas, polytelis species (superb parrots, regent parrots and princess parrots), king parrots, galahs, green cheeked conures (so cute!), vasa parrots... Lovebirds are growing on me an unbelievable amount too!

>.>

Once I'm more confident with parrots I'm sure larger macaws/cockatoos will end up on there as well

Edit: I forgot kakarikis! Dammit zazanomore <3 till you made your thread about them I hadn't considered them. Onto the list they go...

I'm beginning to think if I lived in a mansion or on acreage in a warm climate I'd like a hyacinth macaw. How's that for a "dream bird" that's never going to happen?

Its hard to pinpoint it to one dream bird. I'm fascinated with all parrots. I will admit that conures and quakers don''t really do anything for me, so they are off the list (sorry to those that loves these birds ... I know there are lots of you on here).

Earlier this year, when I was considering getting another bird, I did a lot of research about Amazon's. I adore Amazon's and in a perfect world where I didn't have to worry about time, space or money I would have an Amazon.

Continuing in a dream world, I would also have a TAG and a Macaw. Right now a Macaw scares me and is way too much bird for me, but I've met so many Macaw's and they are amazing birds. With the right knowledge and time they make amazing pets.

In that dream world, I would have a bird room with a TV and a computer. I would be quite content every day just spending the day with birds. How's that for dreaming big :)

Izver, if you decide on an amazon , get a Panama , the very sweetest of the amazons and good talkers.

okay I've been thinking about this for a while and I've come up with my "dream flock" (its completely unrealistic, but here we go) a hahns macaw, an amazon (especially orange winged, panama or mealy amazons), a cherry headed conure and, of course, rainbow my gcc :gcc: would be my ultimate flock. now looking at this, uh, lengthy list I realize that four birds may be a bit much (not to mention I wouldn't mind having a goffins or caique either...) Owning any of one those birds would leave me as a very happy bird owner though so its all good... The only birds that don't really appeal to me are poi, large macaws (I love the scarlet macaw I know but thats quite a lot of bird), and large cockatoos which are very lovable but I've heard too many horrorstories about them

My dream flock, including my current birds would be a kakariki, a rose crowned conure, a rosey bourke, indian ringneck, CAG, fire shouldered conure, dusky pionus, rainbow lorikeet, lovebird, and about 50 more cockatiels and budgies.

Of course this list is completely unrealistic. But whatever.
