It's not what we suggest.

It's all about what you are looking for in a bird.

So...tell us your criteria - what is it that you would like/want in your next bird and what would you want to avoid?

Then it will be much easier to make suggestions, not based on our own likes and dislikes, but on what would be right for you :)

I'm in the same position as you in considering getting a larger bird (a CAG, not moving on, though, keeping all my current ones). I do agree with the other posters to create a criteria for what you're looking for in a bird first.

For example:
-your budget for just the bird
-initial budget for cage and other accessories, food, and such
-monthly budget for food and toys
-how much money can you put aside for emergencies and vet treatments
-how much time can you devote to the bird on a daily basis
-what noise level can you and others around you tolerate
-consider how long some of the larger parrots live, and can you provide for it that long?

I'm sure there are other things to consider besides these. Answering those will give you a better idea of what you're getting into, and narrow down the list of species quite a bit.

Tell us why you were thinking of those birds? Is it the colour, or the character?
Do you kow the downsides of both birds? Sun conures, for instance, can be very loud.

If we knew more about what you are looking for in a bird we could suggest something usefull. Without this information all of us are just going to tell you which bird we like. But that might not be the right bird for you.

I have an Amazon... and honestly I don't think I could deal with the amount of noise a Conure makes.

how big and what criteria are you looking for bigger could be a conure or a macaw :) are you sensitive to noise? if so i would stay away from sun conures(they drive me nuts at work, 2 full aviaries with 9 in ea, urgh)

if you dont have a lot of time cockatoos and africans greys are definatly a no no

you muusssttt give us your criteria to work with!!! :)

cockatoos are also noisy, on saturday im going to record robert (the sulfur crested cockatoo) going hello roberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt and helooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
