Actually, I think it's good to have a spouse who puts a lid on the number of parrot acquisitions one can have. Five is really too many and I really don't want any more. It's more like we are agreeing on a "Shopping budget"...(grin)

If you keep flighted birds, it is hard to collect many and give them all the attention, training and time they should get. Usually, when I think about getting another bird, I spend a day cleaning cages and there's the cure!

Hey Michael,

I was wondering what the status was on you acquiring a cape parrot?

Well last I heard, eggs were laid in early Feb and should be hatching around now. I'll have to give Jean a call soon and find out if they've hatched yet.

I think it was 3. I'm requesting the biggest one they have so probably a male.

No. The breeder is in florida and will ship the parrot to me. She is a fantastic breeder and the parrot is probably better off being raised by her rather than nearby but with a suckier breeder. I was thinking of flying down there to pick the bird up but there really is no point cause it will end up in baggage anyway cause of the size. I hadn't met Kili till the day I bought her and she turned out great so I'm not too worried about meeting the parrot as it is growing up. The breeder said the pre-weened parrot visits do more to accustom the owner to the bird rather than the other way around.

Very very exciting!!

The bird will be fairly young. As long as it's handled gently by the employees and pretrained to tolerate being in a carrier, it probably won't be too bad.
