Ya know its kinda funny cause I too am not a fan of the pois, but then I went to the local Petcetera and there was a little Senegal so I walked up and he/she pushed her head forward into the bars for a scritch and I melted  .....If my Hahns does not cut the apron strings soon I may be tempted to save/buy this fid

after all I have two cages and no bleeping bird!

damn pois!!

Get the Senegal! You won't regret it and it's always better to have two anyway! Do it! Do it!

No pressure...

I just thought I'd throw out there for no particular reason, certainly not to sway anybody, that my Senegal, Pippin, will sit on my shoulder at night and rub his head on me cheek. It's so sweet. Then, he'll usually crawl down to where ever my hands are resting and push his head against my hand until I give him scratches. Sometimes, especially when he's doing something bad, he can tell I'm angry and about to yell at him so he'll run up to my shoulder, smack his beak against my cheek and let out a loud smacking/kissy sound! He knows I can't be mad when I'm laughing about that. When he's feeling playful, he'll grab a bit of my hair and fling himself upside down onto my shoulder while he growls and plays. Another thing he does that's funny is yell at himself when he's misbehaving. For instance, I gave him a telephone book to chew on but he's used to getting in trouble for chewing on magazines so whenever he chews on his phone book he also yells "Hey! Stop it!" the whole time. I could go on and on. Hmmm.. I don't know why anybody would want a bird like that...

pchela, Pippin sounds like my Jessie. Senegals are so funny and sweet.

Jessie has a bad habit of yelling at my husband whenever he gets home from work and on occassion my husband gets annoyed and goes to his cage and tells him to be quiet and he points his finger at him. Jessie knows you're upset when you do that and he automatically puts his head down and asks for scratches. You are right that its hard to be mad at them when they are being so darn cute. I think they know this and use this to their advantage :)

You know, Pippin screams at my husband when he comes home or walks by his cage too. It's really bothersome and we've been trying to figure out how to put a stop to it. Have you tried anything with Jessie?
