-chews (I know this sounds silly but I've always wanted a bird that could demolish those thick wooden toys I see it just seems like it would be so satisfying...) not really necassary at all but something to consider
-would possibly get along with a gcc? I know there would be a big chance they wouldn't get along but it would make me oh so happy if they did...

Ever consider a cockatiel? They basically fit this criteria perfectly. My cockatiel loves to chew. He is very quiet. Cockatiels just like to chill out. My budgies bully him when they get the chance, but he never provokes. Depending on your GCC's personality, I think they could get along (never cage mates and always supervised, but still, bird on bird company is always nice for them)

While Poicephalusdo have a high pitch call, I find my guys very rarely do this, specially my Red-bellieds.

I went the Poicephalus way because they were known to be capable of being independent - and while they do enjoy to spend some time on us, they are quite capable of entertaining themselves on their own if needed.

I think within the Poicephalus, the Senegal have the reputation of possibly being one-person birds but it's avoidable. However, I do find that my Red-bellies, well at least Joey (Pixel still needs a bit of work) enjoys showing off for anyone and will happily go to strangers. He doesn't really seem to have a preference for one person either.

Go on my YouTube and view videos of Joey...playful, entertaining and full of personality for sure. Red-bellieds = clowns.

I would qualify Pois has mid-sized. Body is bigger (stockier) than a gcc, although not as long.

My guys are beavers. They go through wooden toys like there is no tomorrow.

Can't say. My Senegal did want to be friends with my Lovebird but he wanted nothing of it. In any case, regardless of what you choose, you never have any guaranties with this. A bird of similar size (other small conure) might be the best bet for safety, but with proper supervision, I wouldn't be too concerned..

My Red-bellies don't do the shrieks. They have a low mumble which is totally adorable.

Is that Joey that mumbles? Lucy does that all the time. Its like she's mimicing a conversation going on. Sounds like she's mumbling to herself, but you can't make out what she says.

And when one gets going, the other generally follows suite. It's very cute.
And the best part is that Joey does seem to have a more "masculine" mumble and Pixel a more "feminine" one.

I think you also said that Joey likes to show off. That's definitely Lucy as well. We had family over yesterday and she was quite the acrobat on the jungle gym. Much more so if it was just me around.

Joey will show off basically anytime, anywhere.
I recently brought Pixel to a parrot club meeting..I was expecting to see a shy bird but she went all out..showing off, mumbling..exploring. I was pleasantly surprised.

Wow. Nicholas doesn't mumble but he is an excellent talker. He does not like to show off. He's extremely timid and cautious. He doesn't have the Red Belly playfulness that I've always heard about.

As for what bird Giantmoa should get, while I obviously agree that Poi's are the best, I do think you have a much higher chance of your birds getting along if you get another conure. None of my poi's get along with each other or any other bird for that matter.

There is one thing I don't quite understand about this forum, everyone is very quick say the 'not in the same cage' line, but really, Giantmoa, you're talking about a Tiel and a GCC. I've had those two as the only two in a cage together and they couldn't get enough of each other. Absolutely adored each other. Now I'm not stupid, I understand perfectly the dangers of throwing two birds in together that do not want to be in each other's presence, but if they're happy with each other, and they're breeds that're not likely to rip each other to shreds(I won't even let a Lorry and a Hookbill out in the same room together because I've seen the way they can just chase each other around the room, and our GCC wasn't allowed in with our Red Wing and Princess Parrot because they hunted her, they just didn't mix), then why should we be scared to let them share a nice big cage? Yes, some birds a very territorial, like your Senegals, but that's a different story.

I think a tiel would be a perfect buddy for your GCC, or maybe a different kind of Conure?
