Article on Green Cheeks and Maroon Bellies

Parrots magazine, the British publication, has a rather good article on commonly raised Pyrrhura species. It's somewhat slanted towards breeding but has a good amount of information on general needs, wild diet and wild behaviors that I found interesting. Individual issues can be ordered from their website http://www.parrotmag.com/.

I bought a subscription and I am liking it quite a bit actually. Bird Talk is less on the hairy edge of "alternative" (sometimes downright "out there") but Parrots is a bit more adult and experienced owner/breeder oriented, if eccentric, in tone.

i LOVED bird talk as a kid, now i look back and realized i just really liked learning about new breeds i didn't know much about, and that a lot of the information was really for new bird owners. I will check these out-- I like the aspect of getting our own domesticated birds a chance to get as close to the wild as possible.
