Any Parrot Species No One Should Own?

Do you think there are any species of parrots that nobody should own? Perhaps because of problematic behavior, picky environment that cannot be reproduced, etc.

From what I've read and heard from people, it seems like hawk headed parrots are not very compatible to be companion pets in the long run except for a true expert in parrots. But I really haven't had experience with them, I've only seen one of them in person once. They are truly stunning.

I've heard the same thing about the hawk heads.

They really are absolutely gorgeous.

I hand raised a Hawk Head and I can honestly say that he was the coolest bird I ever raised. He just had so much personality! I really think it's all about socialization. I know a guy who has an older Hawk Head and has no problems. They do have a bad reputation which is unfortunate but I don't think keeping one would be any harder than keeping an Amazon which are known to get hormonal.

Agreed. Someone I know has a hawkhead and she tries very hard to educate people about hawkheads as being different birds as to what their reputation leads on to believe.

I've met 3 or them, two which weren't babies anymore. Both well socialized and nice.

I think more than a general statement there are plenty of cases where a person shouldnt own a certian type of bird or an individual bird but the same bird has a person out there for them. I think its all about finding the right mesh of personalities.
