What would the next type of bird you buy be?

If you were suddenly given the time and means to acquire one more bird, what type would it be?

I really like the Pionus. Specifically the white capped and the dusky. I think they are beautiful, and the fact that they are quieter than most species is really appealing :P

I also like the rose-crowned conure. It is a part of the Pyrrhura genus, so they are quieter. They are so beautiful with their pink heads.

Then there's the Goldie's lorikeet. It is said to be the best companion lori, and they too look so cute with their pink heads.

I love all the Australian birds, so I'd love to have a Bourke's, kakariki, Rosella, or grass parakeet.

What about you?

I don't think I set myself on a species so much as shop around for a bird needing a home that appeals to me. That's what we did with Scotty. We weren't really looking at rescues per se, but we were looking at older birds not with the breeder and wanted a real sense of "that's the right one!". Greys are beginning to appeal to me, but if my very talky green cheek can't handle me traveling, I'd hate to think what a Grey would be like!

The thing we are most likely to do when the weather warms up is make a finch aviary for the backyard, but that's different.

I don't think I'll ever get another one, but Pionus has interested me a lot in the past. In fact, it was a toss between the Eclectus and the Pionus, but the Eclectus won, of course :eclectus:

Besides the Pionus, I would have loved to have a Grey, but there is just no way I could cope with so much dust with my allergies, and I hate cleaning too much to ever have one in my house...

An amazon. Most definetely... I really love hahn's macaws too, though! and if it really came down to it, I'd be tempted by one of the larger conures (like, perhaps, a cherry-headed conure...). I think when I can get another bird I'll probably adopt one from the bird rescue organization in my area, so I'm not so much set on a species as a bird I connect with. Though an amazon is my first choice :amazon:

I'd get companions for my budgie and my Cape first-- both male. As for other species, though, I've fallen totally in love with the Fiery-Shouldered Conure, and I've always had a thing for Linnies. I also loooove the Maxi Pi.

Cape parrot or a green aracari(small toucan).

Most people don't know, but from research, toucans make amazing pets. They can't scream loud, have trouble biting down on a grape(can't bite us), and are known to be extremely cuddly and purr while being petted. How does that sound? :D

I can't image having more than one bird who considered me their "main squeeze", having to divide equal time between the two would be too much...I really don't know how so many of you manage to have multiple birds!! But I'd like to have another bird that would be happy without being "hands-on", like a bonded pair of budgies or finches perhaps.

ps. I've looked at toucans too...they unfortunately seem to have a short life-span compared to parrots. I guess that could be considered a mixed blessing, but for the price of them...I dunno. They are also very loud and will eat small birds.
