Than you guys!! I can put her in a perch if I could, but she don't know to do it yet, she try to fly away, she can't stay in a perch, she only feel comfortable in her cage.... but I give her time to warm and feel comfortable to me! =)

True in the US, and probably Canada and Europe, but Issac could be from somewhere else. We've had people on the forum from countries that have far different approaches to pet birds than what most of us take for granted, FWIW.

Ah. Perhaps the best thing is to ask the shop about the bird's breeder? If you want to know...

America must be more organized than us, apparently our bands don't actually mean anything(generally), as in you can't necessarily decode it and figure out who bred it. Most are just computer generated random codes, so if already new the breeder, they may have the code recorded, but you can't go searching for the breeder by it.
Of course there are acceptions, our GCC say MGS ## , which are the breeders initials and a numbe, they also have a different color band for different breeding pairs, so we know our pair is t related because one has a chrome band and the other has a red one.

I ring (closed band) most all of my amazons, and only ring the other birds if i plan on keeping them for breeding, rings or closed band must be placed on day 10 or 12 or the feet grow too large. If you have a bird with a closed band you can sometimes contact the manufacture and they can contact the breeder who may or may not then contact you. Many of the open bands are USDA quarantine bands that haven't been used since the late 80s and can't tell you much except what station and the year. Also many brokers/pet stores don't care about bands or don't want you to use them.

I am so happy I read this forum. I just purchased a Sun Conure :sun: yesterday and JuJu does not have a band. I was scared that it meant it was not from a good breeder or something else bad. I know he was hand raised and is very friendly. He is 4 months old and still weaning. I wish the pet store had given me more advise on that because the past two times I have tried to feed him he would not eat. But he has been eating bird seed. :) I am so happy I found this forum!! Lots of great advise and info!!
