I love how all parrots have a complete different personality and its all their own! they are all so unique and amazing! i loved reading all of your guys posts!

My parrot Marty is cuddly with me but very timid of toys ive only had him about a month so im working with him and id say hes improving! he likes to sit on my shoulder and preen my hair and chew my shirts! he will climb off of his cage and run around my room! hes very interested in my dogs when one walks by he likes to watch them closely, but the dogs only care about the food he drops lol. He yells at people hes a pretty boy and puffs up when he doesnt know them. He chases my grandma out of my room! he literally climbs off of his cage and chases her out trying to bite her feet! i think its funny but i dont encourage it! lol it only happens when im not there. Basically hes kind of teritorial, well yah hes really territorial.. lol but hes my baby bird and i love him so much! im happy i get to spend like 50ish years together! after just a month hes been with me i just have such an amazing bond with him! haha im gonna stop going on about my baby with feathers now lol :D

Jacko my Timneh is sweet but headstrong, he has enormous patience with me and has put up with all my adolescent dramas and me not being able to afford to give him the best (which has happily changed). He is the tamer of my two birds being a weird contradiction of shy (he is nervous about being touched or of strangers---sometimes of new things) bold (he's the first to be off exploring or to lunge and tell me to go away if I dare get near his latest excavation project under the couch) and sickeningly sweet (he always wants scritches!). I don't know if its because he's a rescue or a grey or a combination of both but he has that highly eerie famous african grey empathy--he's almost telepathic. He is highly sensitive and intelligent, always one step ahead of me (and the vet lol). He's surprisingly well mannered however and will happily comply with the vet asking him to step up, and he will let me manhandle him without too much resentment. His plucking is a good gauge of my own emotional/mental and spiritual health---if I am stressed he will react because he is so highly sensitive. He's my conservative grey poet in a suit....after a few drinks---and I love him dearly :) It has been a joy and continues to make me smile so much to watch him come alive after he came to me so terrified and shut down :gray:

Sully my tiel is goofy, cute and expressive. He's full of himself and always on the go---strutting and hopping---his face holds so much feeling. I can read so much out of his eyes and his face. He is loud and vocal---highly bonded to me and if I get too far from him he'll holler or try to fly to me. His favourite place to be is perched on me and chattering in my ear. He is more nervous and less adventurous then Jacko and bit obsessive about me  and if I'm around chances are he's strutting around and trying to preen me through the cage bars. He isn't nearly as well behaved as Jacko is but he's like a small dog in that respect...people tolerate it because he's tiny and adorable---even though he's hissing and biting if they come too close to his cage. I'm trying to work with him in that respect buuut he's stubborn and will *not* be swayed from what he's focused on. Sully's biggest vice is he is *loud* and will call for me until I return...but his charming nature makes up for it----most of the time  :greycockatiel:

Rico is a grump in the morning...but that's ok cause I am too lol, but he's a real cuddler in the evening. He's rather needy in that he likes to have either my hubby or I in eyesight or he'll get noisy. Rico is playful, but also calm a lot of the time. He's also nervous of anything new, and hesitant to try new foods.
Overall, he's my little love bug and my sucky baby lol. :senegal:

Pigpen (budgie) is stubborn, headstrong and very independent. She is perfectly fine by herself all day and would never step up or interact with me if I didn't push the issue. She reminds me of that teenage girl whose bedroom has clothes thrown all over the floor and heavy metal music blasting out of the door.

She won't do anything I ask her to do. If I ask her to step up while she's in the cage, she'll fly out of it. If I ask her to step up while she's on the playgym, she'll fly at my shoulder and sit there for a few minutes to appease me before flying back to the gym.

Her name fits her. She's so messy; and if she doesn't like something, you'll know. She will stomp food she doesn't like down between the grate of her cage to get it out of her way. She will shred newspaper until there is nothing left to shred, and then she'll shred some more.

She's a lovely flier. She will come out of her cage to fly around the room at least twice a day. Her favorite game to play when she's flying is any one that involves swan diving at my head. I leave their cage open if I'm taking a nap (I'm a very light sleeper, and if she's flapping, I can hear her and know where she is), and I've caught her occasionally perching on my feet while I'm sleeping. She's sneaky!

No Name (budgie) is the more cautious bird. He is a lover, but he'd rather not be held or handled. He'd cuddle up to Pigpen all day if she'd let him. When she's sick of him and chases him out of the cage or off of a perch, he looks at her with great big eyes that should say "why won't you just love me?!"

He's clipped so he doesn't fly, but that's not for lack of trying. He will glide down from his cage and try to flap his way back up. He lifts off the ground about an inch, and then goes right back down. He's more determined of the two. He'll keep doing this over and over again until I help him back up.

He's more adventurous with food. I've even tricked him into eating out of my hand a couple of times. He loves his toys and his reflection. He loves to flirt, both with Pigpen and his own reflection. He will sing in the morning to wake me up. He will contact call Pigpen if she's not in his immediate view. Sometimes, he'll even treat me and sit on my shoulder.

Rory's very curious, he's always got his head in somewhere he doesn't belong. He'll give anything a crack, and I'm yet to find a food he doesn't like. He's crazy smart, and seems to pick up some tricks within minutes, though if I'm not paying attention, he can open the treat box on his own. He can get quite frustrated and will throw a tantrum if he can't work out exactly what I want him to do, and will squawk angrily at me when he thinks that he deserves a treat, but I haven't provided one.

He's a two year-old, he clowns around his cage (and will often seem to make up these ridiculous obstacle courses for himself to complete before he's allowed a pellet - that he will repeat over and over again, taking only one pellet at a time). He rolls on his back when I pat his belly, and has recently learned to say "shhhhhh", which he recites after the occasionally particularly loud screech. He's clumsy as anything, and even though he's clipped (though new feathers have just started to grow in - yay!) he flies around everywhere and crash-lands on the carpet quite happily.

He's usually a climber, and wanders all over me, but by the end of the night he turns into a cuddlebug, and snuggles in under my chin while I'm watching tv.

Has anyone read the 'How to Train Your Dragon' series? He is my Toothless.

On good days Isis is wonderful: playful, inquisitive, a wonderful life-affirming clown...

She loves to be the centre of attention, and will hang upside on her perch calling 'Hello?' when anyone new comes to visit - and then laughs and sings and plays with her toys loudly until everyone tells her what a clever girl she is. She is also a dreaful flirt (especially around women!) and will chatter away with women visitors for hours.

On bad days she can be a terrible grump - refuses to speak, bites whenever she can, and is generally a little green dragon.

The secret to days of the former and less of the latter is the same as with any woman - *always* give her what she wants ;)

Piccolo is my male cockatiel. Even though I'm guessing he is around 6, he is a grouchy old soul. I think his early years were abusive, I got him from a store with butchered, bleeding wings, a foot missing toes, and an overgrown beak. He was covered in dried poo from the parakeets above him! He was in a small, small cage. I got him a roomy cage, got him cleaned up, and after just one day with us he was singing! Years later, he still won't let us touch him. He loves our attention- just nooo touchy! He is the trouble maker. He likes to get the rest of the flock going and can be a a bit of a bully. He is LOUD and NOISY and charming all the same. He loves to bob his head along with your finger while you whistle a song with him. This delights both of my children!

Juniper is still pretty new with us but boy, she is a SWEETIE! She loves me so well, she is snuggly, silly, and reminds me a lot of the jenday we used to have. She is still getting used to us so I am sure I will have more to report on her soon. She thinks she is a cockatiel, she is picking up on all of Piccolos noise and loves to sing back to him. She loves to cuddle and sleep with her beak tucked in my ear!!!
