Now that I've had my GCC for a couple of weeks, I feel like I've got a good read on his personality. So I can answer this question about him now.

Cheney Bird is a needy bird. If he sees you and you aren't paying attention to him, bless your soul because he will let you know how unhappy he is. If he's hanging out with you and you're paying attention to something else, be prepared to lose some skin and blood. I've had my lip bitten twice when I've been on the phone with him on my shoulder. Even if he hears the phone ring and sees you pick it up, he's on his way over to you for attention.

I'm not sure if it's because he's a rescue bird and didn't have much one-on-one attention at the rescue, but he seems a lot more clingy than other GCCs I've heard about. I don't mind because I have ample time and attention to give him, however it was a shock at first. My budgies want almost nothing to do with me. I think Cheney Bird would be devastated if I left for longer than a couple of hours.

Now that he's settled in a bit more, he's begun playing with his toys. He's a little acrobat and likes to show off on his swing. He will hang upside down in the corner of his cage and "pet" himself. He doesn't seem too interested in toys until he sees the budgies playing with them, but once he does, that toy becomes his absolute favorite. He's a bit jealous, but not really super possessive.

Overall, he's the perfect bird for me at this point in my life. The biting is a bit frustrating, but knowing he loves me and needs me makes it all worth it. He's going to take a lot of work to get him socialized properly, but I can't imagine a better way to spend my time.

Budgies:
Mango
Considering that I brought him home with the smallest cage possible, I saw he have had 1 toy in that cage and bird Bonanza to eat and water only, he really is sweet budgie. When I took Mango, he couldn't eat. His beak was so overgrown, that it looked like the letter C. Mango was very scared and untrustfull, so any progress was ok for me. He will never eat from my hand or step up to my finger, but he listen and obey commends like: "Mango, go to your cage" or "Sing to me, my good bird". Defenatelly best singer in my place so far. He needs his beak clipped once a month- I do that by myself and for the rest of day he hates me for that. He hates me also, because he is the one, who goes to vets more often. First to jump in unknown, curious. Constantly has to take care of some bird, otherwize he is unhappy.

Coconut
He came as companion to Mango and he kind of help him to socialize back. Mango very fast became happy bird. Coconut is tammed, but sometimes he listen to Mango ;) and doesn't want to obey- only sometimes, so I forgive him. So far best flyer in our little flock.

Both guys are verry vocal when you asked them to sing.

Blueberry- female
When she was younger, she was tammed and sweet. When she matured, she became a little monster bossing around her guys and us. Not interested in shower, singing, but chewing- o, yeah-that's what she loves. One moment she lets for Coco do everything, moment after she is ready to kick him out ;)

Plum
Came from friends, who didn't find what they expect from that bird. They thought that budgie will be like a dog following them everywhere :?
Plum is tamed and under Mango's wings. When he came to us, he had clipped wings, but it did't stopped him from using every method to go to the rest of budgies. After he was able to fly, he loves it and sometimes he is more avian that Coconut. Singing I belive he took after Mango, who is his protector.

Cockatiel:
Chico
We think she is she. It's hard to say about personality since she's still a baby and she join us day before St. Patricks Day. For two days we call her Patrick untill somehow my boyfriend start calling her Chico. So far I can say that she is picky about her food, but not about toys: anything is good to shread and eat: pencil, book, towel, anything around her. She is tamed and respond so far for: "Step up", "Come here", "Buzi(Polish "kiss)" which I teach her: she puts her beak down and touch my nose and there is our kiss ;) She does it when she wants to her head be peted. And yes: wistling and teeth grinding. That's so far.

Arthur - Male Jardines- he was my first and he's my baby, though he is very different from when I first got him. He had been pretty much left in a cage most times as his previous two owners didn't really have time for him so he was very VERY shy and if you tried to touch him or get him to step up at all, he'd rip a chunk out of your hand, though he was always very good with me. I seemed to be the only person he would go to willingly, which is why I adopted him. Its like we bonded instantly because I understood his plight. Now he is very playful and talkative and will roll onto his back and let me scritch his belly.

Sebastian -Male Harlequin- he's my newest. He's only 6 and he definitely acts like a 6 yrs old child. Very rambunctious, vocal, LOUD... but very very smart. I swear he understand me when I talk to him. We are very connected, its kind of odd. He knows when I am in a bad mood and will try to cheer me up, preen me, coo in my ear. When he does something bad or wrong, and I happen to bark at him (which I try not to do) he hangs his head and kind of makes a groaning sound as if he's sorry. When he bit my face on Saturday I didn't react at all but he knew what he did. I didn't take him out of the cage after that the whole day and every time I passed his cage, he would hang his head and move away from me and sit in the corner facing away from me. I know he felt bad. I took him out the next day and he way rubbing his head against my chin and preening my bandaids and I told him he was forgiven.

How can you not? Its funny, but I felt bad for getting so angry. I mean, I know I had a right to be angry, but he had no idea what he was doing and I could see afterwards that he was genuinely upset... and that upset me. He was so excited that I let him out of the cage yesterday and cuddled with him. I think he was afraid that I wouldn't do that any more and when I did, he actually squealed a few times, in delight, like a little kid. Really brought a tear to my eye that he loves me that much. It's nice. (God, I would be such a bad, pushover parent, LOL)

We are all blessed and lucky to have relationships with such wonderful animals and have the chance to be witness to their energy, intelligence and unconditional love.
