budgie or lovebird ?

hay ,my male budgie learned to nod it head also stick target training ,all this done in cage ,tommorow i will do them with him to make the nod head trick stick in its head ,then on friday i might teach it to wave or wing trick , i love the clicker , also he is now eating seeds from my finger but he gets scared from it without seeds on it , i think tameing will take some time

Good job! Try using the target stick to get the bird up onto your finger.

i tryed but he was still scared , also i discoverd somthing wiered that they get realy scared from newpapers ,i mean reaaaaly realy scared from newpapers i was cleaning there cage and i put a new paper on the cage floor they dont get scared from it and they even eat on it but they got scared when a piece from the newspaper was coming up

My budgies are scared of things that are moved in front of them. Even if they're fine with it when it's on the floor, it looks different and bigger to them when you're moving it. It's no big deal and they'll get used to it eventually.

my male now can nod its head on cue , now im teaching him how to wave and we are making progress , michael make truman step on his finger with one of his legs and wave for him ,but in my case since he is scared from my finger i used the stick instead and it worked ,i put the stick in front of him and say "wave" he will touch it with his right leg it just a matter of time and he will rise his leg without the stick , i love him his the smartest pet i ever had , my only problem now is to make him step up on my finger and take him out of cage , michael mentioned two methods in his article the first method is to wear a glove and hold the parrot and get it out of cage ,second method as u said target him onto my finger,,but it didnt work ,, i will keep trying with it , cant w8 to get him out and teach him to turn around

i got my budgie out of cage for the first time , i used the purch in the cage to make him step up on it and i took him out and put him above the cage, it flew 2 times , but he have bad control he kept hiting walls then he landed on the floor after he figured out that he cant fly through walls like in matrix movie then he flew to the cage again, he didnt want to go back to the cage i kept trying to make him step up on the purch but he kept flying away , but after half an hour i succeeded puting him back to his cage

My male budgie will only step up, so getting him back in the cage is pretty easy. My female budgie knows how to step up, but she refuses to do it. She's a bit trickier to get back in her cage. I usually just let her hang out until she decides to go back in.

Once their flight feathers grow back in, they should fly a bit better. Pigpen flew into the wall a couple of times until she learned how to turn. Now she flies in circles around the room. No Name still doesn't have a complete set of flights and can't get any lift. He hasn't taken a flight yet, but I'm sure he'll crash into a wall a couple of times until he gets the hang of it.

Keep practicing and you should have some pretty well trained birds. Just don't forget about the second bird; she needs attention too! She may even see the other one calming down a bit around you and want to try what he's doing.

i see , well my only problem is to hand tame my male budgie , everything thing else is going well and he is very smart when it comes to tricks, but hand taming him will make it easy to take him out and teach him some out of cage tricks like fetch and turn around .
