Canada. You can own them if you live in a farm but not the city. I love how people quote things I don't even say lol thats the funniest thing ever. When did I say I want a colourful bird? I said I want a raven or goose... yeah they are the prettiest most colourful birds out there...
yeah I forgot I am some retard who just walked into a pet shop and bought a conure off impulse because its colourful. I definitely do sound retarded when you quote things I don't say, and neglect to even read what I write. The only reason I even use forums is because research sucks... I did tons of research on linnies and then they turn out to be extremely loud... which is why I don't like reading books, and text but rather ask interactive questions, because people define loud very differently.
Why is everyone a total douche? Like its amazing do you actually feel smart trying to make someone sound dumb? Ill take up your advice and kill my birds tonight...
You obviously don't know the answers so why can't you just not post anything???
If you don't own a bourke parakeet, or some kind of non-screaming bird that wasn't on my list then don't post lol.

Okay, linnies are one of the QUIETEST parrots out there. You can't expect any less quieter. Almost any other parrot you look for will be LOUDER than a linnie. Any forum you go on will tell you linnies are extremely quiet.

A parrotlet cannot scream physically, but will beep beep beep annoyingly. Budgies are quiet, but then so are linnies. Anything bigger than that size will be much much louder.

The only reason we responded in the manner we did, was because you said things like 'You can train an african grey to never once scream because it has the intelligence of a 3-5yr old.', which makes no sense and your mentioning of grabbing a bird's beak shut.

I didn't say I grab birds beaks shut, I just said that is the only way you can stop a bird from screaming if it starts going nuts, and if I did that then I would have just bought a big parrot and done that and not had a problem. So rather than doing that I am looking for an alternatively quieter bird....
I have never owned an African which is why I was asking... You can definitely train a 3 year old human or dog to not scream/bark. Their is many different ways to express fear. My linnie is definitely nosier than my sun conure and can scream almost as loud. Its a chatterbox and whistles and talks all day long yet anyone on the face of the planet will tell you a sun is louder than a linnie. I heard bourkes are way quieter than linnies. True false? can they be loud if they want?

I don't think anyone said you wanted a colorful bird. And I did read your original post and it seemed as though you had a problem with both birds you already had because of the noise.

Regardless, a bird that makes no noise whatsoever is inconceivable. Everyone defines loud differently, so I can't say what's not loud for me would be not loud to you. For instance, my Green Cheek Conure is very quiet in the realm of conures, however you probably wouldn't find them as quiet as I do. He also has a propensity to startle me with his screams, so you probably wouldn't like a Green Cheek.

I really don't know what bird to recommend for you. All birds tend to scream; again, it's in their nature and they do it for a myriad of reasons. The best bird I could recommend is a budgie which can live as long as 15 years in captivity with the right diet and proper veterinary care.

And I'm not saying this to be rude, but I really don't think a parrot is the right pet for you if you can't tolerate the occasional scream. There's really no way to teach them not to scream. It's something you either refuse to deal with and avoid getting a parrot, or you learn to live with it and accept that there will be the occasional nuisance scream.

Why don't you youtube some videos of parrotlets? As I mentioned a few times, parrotlets are physically UNABLE to scream, they only 'beep'. Budgies physically cannot scream other, they can only chirp.

A) I think you are a troll, and a particularly annoying one at that.

B) Get yourself a Pet Rock, to smack yourself in the head with.

I hope to think this person's not a troll. What kind of a bored, useless human being would spend so much time and energy trolling around a group of good-intentioned people?

Actually, a good way to defuse a troll is to take them seriously and remain very calm and informative. The main thing is not to get worked up. If a person is a troll, that's what they want, and if they aren't, no good will come of it either so staying on topic and calm is pretty effective no matter what.

Aside from which, Michael tends not to like us yelling "Troll in the dungeon!".
