If I wasn't moving cross country in a couple months, I'd definitely be there.

My boyfriend had to get rid of his Roombas. His cat would ride them like a little bumper car and never let them charge. Aside from them not charging, they started pulling up the carpet because the cat would have them on all the time.

I'd love to see a partridge. Poor little guy sounds like he needed better depth perception.

The partridge is a tad on the nervous side and catching him is entertainment in and of itself. Lots of fun watching 4 grown ups chasing this thing around the living room like a chicken. :lol:

I have to admit it's true. And that is one of the reasons I can only dream about some birds.
My dream bird is Cockatoo, but I know I wouldn't be able to deal with his noise level. So each time I'm in my favorite pet store, I spend quality of time with :cockatoo: , who is permanent resident there- really sweet hug buddy.
I can't buy bird knowing that I can't tolerate noise he's gonna make.
I believed for so many years that I'm not a bird person and I kept mammals only. So far I'm okay with 4 budgies and Chico. More than okay, I love them and I wouldn't change a single thing.

Let's see who's gonna be next in our little flock ;)

Totally agree. I love the moluccans. Beautiful, sweet cuddly birds, but there is no way I could tolerate the screaming. And Bryan is convinced that they are poisonous, says that's why they have two-pronged beaks. :D

Have you added your dream bird to your current flock?

Up until I added Pixel (female Red-bellied) I did mention wanting to add both a female RB and a female Cape parrot. So obviously I have the female RB but I still want the female Cape. Have wanted one for years now.

Nope - and I doubt it will.

What revisions would you make to your Dream Flock List?

Wouldn't revise anything. I still want a female Cape and once I do get one, if ever, I think that'll be it. While it would be nice to have a flock with at least one of each available species of Pois, I don't think it'll happen (space/time issues..and possibly money as well)

If you got your dream bird, has it lived up to everything you thought it would be?

Since I did get the female RB - Pixel did live up to what I thought she would be.

That's the flock!
If you don't mind me asking, how in the world you menage to give attention to each of your bird?
Even that I prefer quiet parrots, in a faaar future i also would like to make my flock bigger of course with a different type of birds. How you can find time for all of them?

Love my Hahns but would LOVE to get a Great billed. There are only two breeders in Canada and both are fairly new with no babies yet. I love the cartoonish look to their face/beak and from what I have reasearched quite a nice bird, quiet, talks and beautiful bird.....

They are a good size and have a good life span (40yrs)
Anyone know where I can get one???

On a side note:
My brother and his wife had a Moloccan, tons of dust, screamed all the time and plucked like crazy. It spent all of its time with an acrylic collar to stop the plucking and attacked their only child.They would lock her up in the dark bathroom to punish her.....
Poor planning and now she has been given away to an animal resue....sad

I have never had a "dream" bird. I guess if I chose one it would be a hyacinth macaw or Major Mitchell's cockatoo. They are absolutely gorgeous birds.

I think I am done with just my 4, but someday I might add another green cheek - a turquoise or a fancy pineapple.

I'm lucky that they are reasonably well behaved amongst themselves that I can have them all out at the same time, under supervision of course.

Like right now, everyone is out. Petey is on my boyfriend, Piper is one me grooming. Joey is sitting close by to me playing with a piece of pine, Pixel is on one of the table stands playing with some toys and Shade and Zuri are together on a tree, preening each other.

They don't feel the need to all be on us humans all the time but do seem to enjoy being close by. That helps. And, if I might add, no one is making a sound. They are much more vocal when they are in their cages, talking to each other I would assume, than they are when everyone is out.

In any case, when one bird steps up and wants some one-on-one, I oblige. But they are also quite happy doing their own things.
