what happened to this ekkie lower mandible? all ekkies i have seen have black lower mandible but this one has candy corn lower mandible. im tempting to get it because it's unusual ...

The yellow chest feathers also caught my eye.

chest feather may or may not stay after molting, i have vosmaeri female with green feather ;) ... but the candy corn lower mandible is cool ... looks like lory :thumbsup:

I know what you mean w/ the yellow feathers. I originally thought it was yellow feathers from being a plucker/prior plucker; but coupled w/ a yellow lower mandible. . . ????

If I were you I would think twice about that. His feather is in very bad condition, and I remember reading somewhere that a corn beak is a sign of disease.

I'll try to find the source and post it if I do. Corn lower mandible is definitely not normal for an Eclectus.

i know its not normal thats why im tempted to get it.

this one has a candy corn lower mandible as well ....but the test at vet shows that he's healthy. plus his feet are pale/ivory instead of black. :shock:

if its possibly a sign of disease i wouldnt even think about it anymore.. it would be horrible if you bought it got attached then something happens to the poor birdy :(

I'm just wondering why you find this parrot more interesting because he has a corn beak ?

Have you read all about Eclectus and know that they have different needs ?
