Parrotlets can be aggressive to other birds, but all of the Green Cheeks I know (including my own) are really aggressive to other birds too. My boyfriend's GC chases and bites the two Eclectus (who both started off very interested and friendly towards the GC, but are now emotionally scarred by him, sensitive souls). My GC has tried to chase the wild butcher birds that land on our window sills.

Poor Electus! My GCC is really friendly to other birds. My budgies chase him and antagonize him all the time.

Our 2 GCC's actively chased my Auntie's Amazon and 2 Sunnies in their own home, off their owners, off their own play stand! I didn't realise they had it in them

I'm new - Hi guys!

I thought I'd make my first post here. I have a parrotlet, Rocco. He is 3 1/2 and I've had him since he was a baby. He was hand raised and is the sweetest thing! Before getting him I read that parrotlets can be nippy, or very bossy, even the breeder warned me. But he is so sweet. He loves to just hang out with me on my shoulder, be petted and scratched and play on top of his cage. He even does flight recall!

He speaks very well and picks up words and phrases very quickly. I believe this is quite rare in parrotlets. He loves to talk to me. He is not loud, he never screams. He just quietly chatters away to himself. He is not demanding and loves to play in his cage and amuse himself.

Great pet!!

I can't speak to Parrotlets, but I can speak to the Quaker/GCC combo (or at least to MY Quaker/GCC combo! LOL!). Bucky (Quaker) is by far the noisier of the two. He chatters to himself for a good part of the day, but is really only "loud" for a total of about an hour. JJ (GCC) is silent by comparison. I've heard her screech 3-4 times since she came home about a week ago, both times in response to Bucky when she was taken out of the room and he wasn't. (He gave out a flocking call and she responded - very alertly.) Maybe this is because she's still a baby (only a few months old) and she'll get louder as she matures, I don't know.
They're very different birds. Between the two, Bucky is by far the more aggressive of the two. He runs her out of wherever he wants to be. The fact that she's flighted is the only thing that's saved her little tail-feathers a couple of times! In short, I've noticed little (if any) increase in vocalization since JJ arrived, and have decided that a Quaker/GCC combo quite possibly the perfect Avian pet-set possible!

Right now I have the change to re-home a lovebird. I always said I'd never want one, something inside my heart is tugging me towards this bird. I said the same thing about quakers haha! I think the universe is trying to tell me something. :danicing:
